Cumbria Community Flag
Be part of history: Design Cumbria’s first Community Flag
Cumbria is set to receive its very own community flag. We invite residents from across the county to get involved in this exciting design competition. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Cumbrian history.
Why create a community flag for Cumbria?
Currently, Cumbria doesn’t have a flag that represents the ceremonial county. This competition offers everyone a chance to help create a free unifying symbol for everyone to use that will:
- express the pride in our local community.
- raise recognition and awareness of the area nationwide, and
- celebrate the heritage and culture of our corner of the country.
Get involved
The Cumbria Lieutenancy and the High Sheriff of Cumbria, with support from the University of Cumbria, Cumberland Council, Westmorland and Furness Council, and the Flag Institute, invite you to unleash your creativity. Submit your design. It can be a:
- drawing,
- painting,
- digital artwork,
- or a handcrafted creation.
Submit your creation by 12 noon on Thursday, 27 March 2025.
